| About the Canadian Evangelical Theological Association The Canadian Evangelical Theological Association (CETA) seeks to provide a forum for scholarly contributions to the renewal of theology and church in Canada. Members include interested academics, pastors and lay people. The Association promotes theological work that seeks to be loyal to Jesus Christ and His Gospel, faithful to the primacy of Scripture, and responsive to the guiding force of the Christian church.
The annual meeting of the association is usually held in conjunction with the Canadian Congress of the Social Sciences and Humanities. The 2008 annual meeting will be on May 30-31 at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver BC.
Membership in CETA includes a subscription to Canadian Evangelical Review. A membership form may be found below under the heading "The Canadian Evangelical Review".
Regular Call for Papers
The Executive of the Canadian Evangelical Theological Association (CETA) welcomes proposals for papers to be presented at the 2008 Annual Meeting to be held in conjunction with the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences. CETA encourages submission of papers related to the theme of "Biblical and Theological Perspectives on Creation and the Environment," though high quality papers on other themes are also welcome.
Papers should be scholarly but not highly specialized presentations aimed at an audience of scholars from across the spectrum of theological disciplines, including biblical studies and historical, systematic, moral and pastoral theology.
Proposals should be approximately 250 words in length and should be accompanied by a short CV. All proposals should be submitted electronically to the address below in either Word or Rich-text format by January 31, 2008. Please entitle your email "CETA 2008 Paper Proposal." Papers chosen for participation will be notified by March 1, 2008.
Graduate Student Paper Competition
In addition to the regular Call for Papers, the Executive invites students from graduate level theological or religious studies programs to submit high quality papers, no more than 3000 words in length, on themes of interest to the membership of CETA. The winner of this competition may be asked to present the paper at the Annual Meeting and/or the paper may be published in a future issue of Canadian Evangelical Review.
Completed papers should be submitted to the address below in Word or Rich-Text format by January 31, 2008. Please ensure the subject line of the email is clearly marked "CETA Graduate Student Paper Competition," and includes a short CV. The winner of the Competition will be notified by March 1, 2008.
